You know they need Love When you see an orphan in Pakistan wandering around the streets aimlessly, not knowing it exists. You know they need Joy When you see a Vietnamese war veteran mourning over the loss of his beloveds, not knowing it can be rediscovered. You know they need Peace When you see the nations at war with one another. Spilling innocent blood in the process and pretending to be ignorant of it all. You know they need Patience When you see that the harvest for the crop this year is late, causing panic amongst the harvesters and leading them to immorality. You know they need Kindness When you see a family that can barely make ends meet, scrap the bottom of a garbage dump just to survive. You know they need Goodness When you see a murderer being arrested and in his eyes hold the hope that you would see the pain in it. You know they need Faithfulness When he thinks everyone has turned their backs on him, leaving him alone in the cold, cruel world. You know they need Gentleness When she has just been abused by her best friend and cries herself to sleep every night because of the hurt she’s been put through. You know they need Self-Control When he loves her so much but can’t even talk to her, so near yet so far. Aki 20th November 2007 |
